The Humane Society of Stillwater is a nonprofit, no-kill animal shelter that serves homeless dogs and cats in the Stillwater community.  The purpose of the Humane Society of Stillwater is to facilitate the placement of stray and unwanted animals and pets in desirable homes; to establish and maintain an animal shelter and associated procedures which promote the health, care and handling, and prevent over population and the prevention of cruelty to animals.  The animals in our care are never euthanized merely because we lack space or because the animal’s stay with us has exceeded a predefined amount of time.  We spay/neuter and vaccinate all of the animals in our care and do our best to give them a loving home until they are adopted into a home of their own.

News

Donate A Bed Program: The Humane Society of Stillwater uses Kuranda beds to keep our animals off the cold floor in the winter and to keep them cool in the summer. Kuranda beds are durable and easy to clean, which helps us promote healthy animals. We are happy to report that all of our dogs our now sleeping on a Kuranda bed, but the cats have become jealous and want beds of their own. If you would like to donate a bed, please visit www.kuranda.com/donate.

Humane Society Calendars for Sale: 2010 Humane Society Calendars are currently available for purchase at the shelter and many other retailers around town. All of the proceeds from the calendar go directly to the Humane Society. Pick up your calendar today and help support the homeless animals of Stillwater

Spay Day at the Stillwater Library: The Humane Society is excited to be participating in the first Spay Day event hosted by the Stillwater Public Library. Lara Sypniewski with OSUs small animal clinic spay and neutering education program will give a short, fun presentation on the benefits of spaying and neutering/how it works/the side effects/the effects of not spaying and neutering. Susan Phariss and her dog, Riley, will also be performing at the event. A handsome, friendly, golden retriever, Riley gives entertaining programs of service dog skills from coast to coast. Riley has performed on live television, commercials, and Nickelodeon.

Kitten Food Needed: The Humane Society is in need of kitten food. If you would like to help with this need, just drop the food off at the shelter anytime we are open.
